Songs From Under The Car Park

This afternoon, I headed on down to the venue with the most expensive wallpaper in town, Reidys Home Of Music, to catch the latest of their Sunday Sessions.

Now situated beneath Feilden Street Car Park, close to Waves, the music emporium contains a small stage
with a professional audio-visual set-up which hosts a range of music acts from the local area as well as special guests from further afield. A few months ago, the store started Sunday Sessions - a free mini-gig each Sunday afternoon, perfect for winding up your shopping trip or pub lunch before heading home, though the talent on display is well worth a special trip to town.

Today saw the turn of Reece Bibby, a singer-songwriter from Accrington who recently jammed with none other than Liam Gallagher. Displaying a maturity way beyond his 14 years, Reece writes and performs the kind of beautiful, wistful songs of which most musicians can only dream, throwing in a handful of well-selected covers ranging from Ben E. King's 'Stand By Me' to the more recent 'Another Love' by Tom Odell.

If you missed the performance, be sure to check Reece out on YouTube and you won't be disappointed. As one of today's spectators shouted out "The future's safe!"

*The next Sunday Session, featuring Phased, takes place at Reidys on 20th October 2013 from 3pm.
